2015 was a really fantastic year for my wedding photography! I was lucky enough to photograph the weddings of fifty great clients (on par with the previous year) and started 2016 with exactly the same number again too!). Lavenham Photographic enjoyed yet another year of fantastic support from Country House Weddings’ Leez Priory and Gosfield Hall, totaling nearly 30 weddings between them, twenty weddings at various other venues, including a few that were new to me (Amazing after 15 years I still find local venues I’ve never been to!).
2015 was the year I really embraced the VSCO filters that really give the photos an edge. I kinda standardised on the look of the Fuji 400x film look, as I really love the pastel colours the photos take on (Especially with pastel colours chosen for the wedding) but will Chose other filters when I feel the photo suits it. This was also the year my workflow was improved dramatically with new technology I’ve embraced. I now develop photos in Lightroom using a motorised midi controller, shoot dual-cameras with a Nikon D810 and D800 on the Holdfast Moneymaker camera strap system. Purchased more prime lenses to really chase the look and feel I aim to capture in ,my photography.
My ethos of always looking for ways to improve is proving very satisfying. Choosing nothing but the best cameras and lenses for the sharpest possible images is a good start, but ‘living and breathing’ wedding photography as I do gives me inspiration literally every day, and I’m immensely grateful I can continue to make a living doing something I love. Long may it continue!
