There are so many great backdrops at Forty Hall, many doorways, trees, steps. And that’s just outside! I love to photograph wedding rings against something stone, to give a real contrast between the textures!
Using natural light during the wedding ceremony to be as discrete as possible
My full array of lenses are always on hand during the ceremony, I usually switch to a longer lens as the wedding rings are about to go on fingers, to get a closer shot like this that also shows the dress detail and wedding jewellery well
These trees were in perfect blossom at the date of the wedding (31st March, if you are wondering!) and make a fantastic background for wedding photographs!
A great number of fantastic background for wedding photographs at Forty Hall
Also for the more formal group wedding photos
Shot close-up here the doorways look even better, great against the white tones of a wedding dress!
In the absence of an upstairs window for me to access, I always carry a monopod, to hoist the camera into the air. this always works great, to get the overhead photo of the whole wedding.
